Biography |
Scottish pop singer Sheena Easton made her acting debut as a regular on the hit television series Miami Vice in 1987. While her feature-film work has been sporadic, she has found continued success on television, primarily as a voice artist for such animated series as Disney's Gargoyles. Her feature-film voice work includes the animated All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 (1996). Easton has also appeared on-stage, notably in a Broadway revival of the musical Grease in which she played the peppery Rizzo. |

- Naturalized U.S. citizen.
- She won two Grammy Awards, including one for Best New Artist in 1981.
- Her hit song, "We've Got Tonight", with Kenny Rogers, went to #1 on the Billboard Country Charts.
- Earned the hits "For Your Eyes Only" (#4), "When He Shines" (#30), "You Could Have Been With Me" (#15), "Telefone (long Distance Love Affair)" (#9), "Modern Girl" (#18), "We've Got Tonight" with Kenny Rogers (#6), "Almost Over You" (#26), Strut (#7), "Do It For Love" (29), "Sugar Walls" (#9), "The Lover In Me" (#2), "What Comes Naturally" (#19) and "Morning Train (Nine to Five)" - her only hit to reach #1 on the Billboard Pop Charts.
- Inspired to pursue a singing career after seeing Barbra Streisand in The Way We Were (1973), she later attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama while moonlighting with the group Something Else.
- Her song "9 to 5" was already a big hit in the UK, so when the song was released in America it went under the title "Morning Train" to avoid confusion with Dolly Parton's recent hit of the same name.
- Two time Grammy Award winner
- Recorded an album of disco covers, 'Fabulous', in 2000 for Universal Records for the European market. It went top 20 in Spain and Estonia.
