- [November 1998] Broke up with Gerd-Jan van Dalen, one of the producers of "Goede tijden, slechte tijden" (1990).
- Caused car accident after driving drunk in December 1999.
- [12 March 1999] She and her co-star and close friend, Cas Jansen, left "Goede tijden, slechte tijden" (1990) together when their characters, Julian Verduyn and Jessica Harmsen, went to Israël.
- Has a younger sister named Birgit Schuurman who is a very popular Dutch singer/actress.
