Born and raised in Etobicoke, Canada, Katheryn Winnick trained extensively in the martial arts growing up. She currently holds a third-degree Black Belt in tae kwan do, a second-degree Black Belt in karate and is a licensed bodyguard. Before moving to Los Angeles, Katheryn studied acting in New York City, and in 2003 she was selected from among thousands of young actors to be documented as one of the next ones to have "it" in Bravo's groundbreaking series "The It Factor" (2002). A rising star in film and television, Katheryn just starred as the young Ivana Trump in ABC's highly-publicized biopic Trump Unauthorized (2005) (TV) ("The Hollywood Reporter" said about her performance that "she steals nearly every scene"). She recently finished shooting the Paramount romantic comedy Failure to Launch (2006), and stars in _Kiss Me Again (2005)_ (premiering at the 2005 Toronto Film Festival), the indie action movie Good Girl, Bad Girl (2006) (TV), the teen roadtrip comedy Going the Distance (2004) and Miramax's upcoming horror film, Hellraiser: Hellworld (2005) (V). On the small screen, Katheryn has guest-starred on such hit shows as "CSI: NY" (2004), "Law & Order" (1990) and "Oz" (1997).
