Biography
A leading lady on screen, stage and sometimes television. Brenda Vaccaro, was born in Brooklyn, but was actually raised in Dallas, Texas.Her appetite for acting increased following several appearances in high school productions, and finally started a professional career in the 1960s. Memorable to many in Supergirl (1984) She was nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar in Jacqueline Susann's Once Is Not Enough (1975).Recently appeared in Just Desserts (2004) (TV).
Was named as "King of Brooklyn" at the Welcome Back to Brooklyn Festival in 1992
Has been nominated for three Tony Awards: in 1966 as Best Supporting or Featured Actress (Dramatic) for "Cactus Flower," in 1968 as Best Actress (Musical) for "How Now, Dow Jones," and in 1969 as Best Actress (Dramatic) for "The Goodbye People."
